Customer questions & answers
1. Question: My cleaning lady likes to use bleach to clean - is
this an effective alternative? Thanks
Answer:
The active ingredient in liquid bleach is sodium hypochlorite. The active
ingredient in this product is sodium hypochlorite, so it's the same thing, not
an alternative. I don't understand why people would pay $17 for 1/4 gallon of
bleach and some added surfactant myself. I can buy 5 gallons of 12.5% sodium
hypochlorite locally that is a day old or less (bleach degrades and weakens
over time and is typically too weak to sanitize around the house about 90 days
after it is bought off the store shelf per EPA standards). For the same $17 and
have 20x as much, fresher and MUCH stronger than what this is for the same
money because this product is probably about 5% or less sodium hypochlorite. I
didn't see what percentage of active ingredient was in this product, and I'm
assuming that is on purpose.
Answer: What
people choose to believe doesn’t change the fact that the ingredient is sodium
hypochlorite (aka BLEACH). The only thing special about it is the labeling and
the fact that someone put it in a spray bottle so you don’t have to dilute your
own bleach. Of course it works! You can prepare the formula for a few cents
yourself though.
Answer: No,
it is not an alternative. This is an industrial type of cleaner. Much stronger
than Clorox out of a bottle. Its similar to swimming pool chlorine and is very
caustic. It will burn your skin or lungs if not used properly. It is fantastic
for killing mold and mildew but proper personal protective equipment must be
used. Not your everyday cleaner.
2. Question: Does this
kill Black mold or does it just beach it?
Answer: We
had a bunch of black mold on one spot of our house when we moved it. Power
washed it, bleached it, tried 30 second stuff and nothing. It just kept coming
back. We got this and almost a year later it is still gone. It did take about 3
times spraying it but it was a huge and thick spot. We did not scrub at all due
to how high the spot was.
Answer: Good
Morning, Unfortunately, RMR Solutions is unable to state that the RMR 86
actually kills mold due to not having an EPA registration number. We have been
told from numerous contractors from their proven tests, that this product did
in fact kill the mold spores. The RMR 86 is just the mold stain remover. Please
let us know if you have any other questions. Thank you and have a wonderful
day.
3. Question: Can this be
used on an asphalt shingled roof to remove mildew stains?
Answer: Hello,
RMR-86 can be used on shingled roofs, just be sure to be careful and cover
grass, bushes and ferns to prevent the product from killing any plant life from
over spray. We have found that if you thoroughly water the plant life
surrounding the work area, before and after spraying RMR-86, it will protect
most plant life.
4. Question: Would this work on a memory foam mattress?
Answer: I
wouldn't recommend using any liquid period on a memory foam mattress. Moisture
can ruin the foam and not just aestheticly. Think about a kitchen sponge, it
never fully recovers to original form once wet and gets worse over
time....that's essentially what you're doing to your bed.
