  1. You could use vinegar, yes, but it would cost about the same, and Affresh tablets smell so much better. In addition, the box of tabs is much lighter and takes up much less space. One tip for making things work even better is to follow the instructions (high water level, hot temperature), but after the washer fills and agitates for a few minutes, turn it off and let it to soak with the lid closed. I let it sit for about 15-20 minutes, continued agitating for a few minutes, then stopped the washer once more for another 15-20 minutes, continued agitating for a few minutes, then stopped the washer once more and let it sit for another 15-20 minutes.
  2. I purchased these tabs since our new Dawlance washer occasionally emits a foul odor. One of these in a month on the fresh tub setting gets rid of the smell. With a permanent marker, I simply created a T-chart on the box again for months and added an X when I inserted the tab for the month. I don't skip a month this way, and my washer functions perfectly.
  3. This stuff seemed fantastic at first, however the sludge it left after is now stuck to my washing drum. Until I figure out a means to pull it out, I can't use my washer. I was left with an urgent task to complete.
  4. Due to a persistently foul smell coming from our washer, I utilized two tablets in subsequent cleanings. The second cleaning was carried out using the sterilization setting, and it worked. Now that the scent is gone, the wash smells considerably cleaner.
